Research Associate Professor

Dr. Ting Yan is the Co-Principal Investigator of the i-BRAIN group and an Associate Research Professor at Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School. She brings nearly 20 years of experience in non-human primate research, with deep expertise in electrophysiology, neural circuit mechanisms, and translational neuroscience. Her work has spanned the development and investigation of NHP models for Parkinson’s disease, autism, stroke, and schizophrenia, employing multimodal approaches that include in vivo electrophysiology, neuroimaging, and behavioral analysis. Dr. Yan received her Ph.D. in Neurobiology from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, where she investigated the role of dopaminergic systems in motor control, reward, and cognition. Prior to joining i-BRAIN, she held research positions at the Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, leading independent projects and collaborative programs focused on the development of treatment strategies for brain disorders. She is currently dedicated to advancing transformative brain-computer interfaces in non-human primate models.
